My Favorite Features: This financial budget planner is a step in a more serious direction. With added features like monthly folders to keep receipts and a more details (and colorful) system for tracking expenses, this is a serious value. The magnetic clasp is a nice touch because it makes sure that the contents inside the planner stay inside the planner. The smaller size (7″ x 5.3″) is a nice advantage, as it will be easy to store and keep with you if necessary.

Who is This Budget Book Good For? Someone who likes an aesthetically pleasing and highly functional budget book. Also, someone who has a lot of receipts to track!

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

4. Home Budget Workbook

My Favorite Features: Don’t be fooled by the reviews at all – this budget book may not be much to look at, it’s got it where it counts! I like the simple layout where you have a complete overview of the month without flipping through multiple pages. The other features, such as a balance sheet that is a net worth tracker are really nice. Explanations appear throughout the book that give the user tips on how to best manage their money along with viable strategies. I like this book for the additional features and simple layout.

Who is This Budget Book Good For? Someone who likes a good “overall view” for the month with a simple and direct way of tracking expenses.

My Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars

3. A Monthly Budget Planner: Sort Your $hit Out!

My Favorite Features: Making budgets fun is hard thing to do but with an entertaining name it certainly helps. The layout of this financial budget planner is pretty straight forward which is nice. Just for kicks, I’m going through some of the reviews – most of which are about things not related to the content of the tracker. One person complained about it being “too detailed”. How you can you be too detailed about your budget? People never cease to amaze.

Who is This Budget Book Good For? Someone who wants a non-traditional but completely viable budget book. I approve!

My Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Stars

2. Your Balanced Budget (Monthly Planner)

Your Balanced Budget - Front over and page sample

Check price here on: Amazon

Key Features:

  • User-friendly Monthly Tables to Track Expenses (by category)
  • Provides Easy to Follow Budget Principles
  • Provides Enough Space for a Full Year’s Worth of Budgeting
  • Dimensions: 10.25″ wide x 7″ high, 48 pages

My Favorite Features: Although this seems very similar to the “Home Budget Workbook”, there are a few differences. First off it’s more visually appealing. Following that, the columns and categories are broken up better by using different colors. After browsing the reviews, the complaints seem similar to this book’s related book as well – namely that the columns are on the small side which makes writing more than just a number nearly impossible. Of course, I think these people are missing the point. This is a broad, month based tracker and for that it fits the intended purpose.

Who is This Budget Book Good For? Someone looking for a simple and direct month based expense tracker.

My Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

1. Monster’s Cash Book

Monster's Cash Book - Front cover and page sample.

My Favorite Features: This is definitely the odd one of the bunch. I really like the included pencil and sticky flags. If you’re into cartoon monsters being everywhere – then this is the budget book for you! This seems to provide a standard budget tracker and calendar which is nice and is an “all in one” type of package.

Who is This Budget Book Good For? Someone who is a fan of budgeting and cartoon animals. Who might also speak Korean. Either way, it’s a novel creation.

My Rating: 2 out of 5 Stars

My favorite:

Overall, I have to hand this hypothetical award to the best financial budget planner to: Boxclever Press Budget Book. The Boxclever Book just provides such a nice overall package. It’s adaptable for the entire year, provides a durable but visually appealing cover and holds receipts. It’s hard to compete with something that provides that level of adaptability.

  1. Love this site! I was just talking to my coworker earlier today about needing to budget my financial expenses earlier today. This is a wonderful way to do that. I would agree 100%, the box clever press budget book seems to be the best out of all 6!

    Thanks for the post.

  2. If I had to choose a budget planner that I like best, it might just be my personal spreadsheet that I’ve developed haha; but staying on topic, I think I agree with your assessment. The Boxclever option looks like a really great one due to its comprehensive nature. Thanks for this breakdown!
